Help find Sean Sidi

We need your help to find our son

FROM SEAN SIDI FAMILY - BEWARE of SCAM: $2,750 “FINE” for POSTING A MISSING PERSON FLIER

Yesterday, I had lunch with someone who talked about a friend’s FEAR of posting her missing child's FLIER - after paying a huge "FINE" for the "CRIME" of posting her son's missing person flier in San Francisco.

I was abruptly reminded of our own experience.

Eight days after Sean went missing, WE RECEIVED A SIMILAR 'FINE' - demanding $2,750 for posting Sean's fliers.   Page 1 of the 3 page letter is attached, with our address redacted.

The letter (with a SF City Hall address & payee address at Dept of Public Works) was received while we were REELING & in total SHOCK from the events of May 21, 2013, the day Sean vanished…. I'm sure the timing was purposeful.

HOWEVER, we did NOT pay this ridiculous "FINE". Instead, we turned the letter over to the POLICE who CONFIRMED the "FINE" was NOT legitimate!!!!!!!!!

To the family above – DO WHAT YOU MUST– POST your son’s flier.

TO ALL, BEWARE OF SCAMS preying upon vulnerable families with missing loved ones!   If you know of such a family, please pass this information along to them.

We are doing our best, but still no Sean....Say a prayer for Sean, for the California Missing 5...all missing from San Francisco...Please help us keep Sean's case alive by posting one of his fliers - anywhere -

More pictures of our precious Sean...Always smiling, always so good natured and funny. We miss him so very much.... The third picture is of Sean (on left) and friend Nico who lives in Tahiti.  The 4th is of our car with Sean's flier - apparently the only way to keep a flier up in San Francisco....

Happy Father's Day - Search for Sean SIDI

Happy Father's Day to ALL the Wonderful Dads Out There,

I wasn't sure whether to post this, given the agony of missing Sean. ....I hope that somehow Sean can feel the immense love that has enveloped him since the day he was born...

Below are pictures of the awesome dads who have blessed our lives. Together, they have showered Sean & Danielle (and us) with much love, laughter, warmth, and precious moments....

Pic 1 - My dad, Robert pictured w/Sean - We are so very lucky to have him in our life. My dad, like us, suffers greatly with the heartbreak of not knowing what happened to Sean....

Pic 2 - Claude's dad - Octave - pictured with Sean. Octave was a lovely man, with such a good sense of humor and so incredibly kind and patient. He visited us every year from Rome. While he is no longer with us, he is in our hearts everyday. We miss him dearly.

Pic 3/4 - Claude with Sean and Danielle. Claude has always been such a great dad - loving, patient, & fun...the kids always had such a great time with Claude. Very stressful for me at times worrying, but Sean and Danielle loved every minute of Claude's non-stop adventures.

So many cherished memories of special times together.....

Our search for our beloved Sean continues.

From Captain Ed Santos of SFPD at Sean SIDI's 2 Year Vigil on May 16, 2015

Good Afternoon.

My name is Ed Santos Jr. I am the Officer-in-charge of the Special Victims Unit of the San Francisco Police Department.

First I want to acknowledge Sean’s family and thank them for allowing me to be here on this two-year anniversary.

Two years ago Sean disappeared here in San Francisco.

A disappearance that has been difficult to understand,

A disappearance that has been difficult to resolve.

Every day in this world a loved one disappears.

Some are found quickly, and some are found much later.

Locating a missing person is a difficult and challenging task, but not impossible.

To find someone, it takes a huge effort along with teamwork

Law enforcement officers are not always the one who locate a missing loved one.

It’s often people who continue in their efforts that reach out as far as their message is received.

Sean’s mother, Lynn Ching has been relentless in her search for Sean and has never given up hope of finding him.

Not long ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Ching. I had just become the officer in charge of the Special Victims Unit.

In the few moments of meeting and speaking with her, I could feel her love for Sean and the pain she felt missing him.

Being a father and recognizing the importance of family, I told Lynn that the Missing Persons Unit would reexamine Sean’s case as well as explore other avenues of investigation.

When Lynn left the Special Victims Unit, little did she know of the admiration and respect that I had for her and her family.

In an effort to finding Sean, I ask the media to send Sean’s story as far across this nation and across this world. The media is a very powerful resource.

I ask people who here today, friends and family to use the power of social media to spread the word about Sean’s disappearance.

Using every tool and resource that we have to find Sean is important.

It can be one picture, it can be one word.

I have hopes that Sean will be found, everything is possible.

In closing,

I want to thank the Sidi family for not giving up hope in their search for Sean.

I want to thank those who have called law enforcement with possible sightings of Sean.

I want to thank those who have carried the message of Sean disappearance to places that we could not reach.

And I want to thank the media for helping to get this message into the eyes and ears of people across the world.

And lastly, I want to thank Lynn and her family for giving me the opportunity to speak at this wonderful gathering, your family has the support of the SFPD and our efforts will continue until Sean is found.

Thank you….

[Capt. Ed Santos]
