Keep Hope Alive - A Personal Message to Family & Friends

Save the Date!! – SATURDAY, September 14, 2013 at 2 pm (San Francisco, location TBD)

KEEP HOPE ALIVE!

Dear Family and Friends,

It has been almost 3 months since Sean vanished without a trace.  There are no words to describe the ache, agony and devastation that we feel each and every minute of the day.   We cannot envision a time without our sweet, smiling Sean - who brought so much joy and laughter into our lives.  The best friend of his sister, Danielle…the boy who is … so funny and outgoing – you felt like you had known him forever.

There are days where feelings of utter hopelessness threaten to consume us.  We try and remember the words of Kym Pasqualini, the Founder of ‘National Center for Missing Adults’, whose wisdom comes from 20 years of working with missing persons. Kym’s words of HOPE are:

“ … we solved hundreds of cases including missing person cases, unsolved homicides, and unidentified by someone seeing a post on the Internet (or flier) and calling in a lead.  It comes down to this.   Locating missing persons and solving crimes depends upon not only law enforcement but the cooperative efforts of law enforcement, advocating agencies, the media and most importantly the public.

Feeling utterly discouraged is normal, questioning the effectiveness of efforts important but all too often missing persons fall through the cracks because people don't know they are missing…..”

On Saturday, September 14, 2013, we will hold a JOINT AWARENESS VIGIL to help spread the word about the search for Sean and 2 other missing boys from San Francisco:  Jackson Miller and Crishtian Hughes.

Your attendance will GREATLY help ensure that Sean, Crishtian and Jackson DO NOT FALL THROUGH THE CRACKS.

PLEASE SAVE THE DATE!!!

Searching For Sean - More From Santa Cruz

We spent another busy day in Santa Cruz - posting Sean's fliers and making contact with soup kitchens, homeless shelters and other organizations providing services to those in need.   Everyone was very helpful and encouraging and they took many of Sean's fliers to share with others working with the homeless.

Page - a worker at St Frances soup kitchen told us that she had recently 'found' a man who had been missing for a year.  She recognized him from a photo sent by the missing man's sister - and put the man in touch with his sister.  Page said that it was like finding a needle in the haystack.

We continue to hope and pray that we  will be reunited with Sean soon.

Searching for Sean in Santa Cruz and Capitola

This weekend we took our search for Sean to Santa Cruz and Capitola.  Many fliers were posted near high foot traffic areas such as the Boardwalk, beaches, and downtown.  We also distributed Sean's fliers to local law enforcement and posted to community boards.

Many people we encountered in Santa Cruz had not yet heard of the search for Sean.  However, all were very sympathetic and promised to keep their eyes open for him.

We know without a doubt that Sean cannot be found unless people know that he is missing. We are determined to increase our efforts to raise awareness about our search for Sean.

THANK YOU to all who continue to post Sean's fliers and who tirelessly work to spread the word about Sean.  We are very grateful for your continued support during this very difficult time.

A Sunburst for Sean's Sweet and Sunny Smile

Each day that passes without Sean’s brightness and laughter brings an emptiness that cannot be filled.   Sean is dearly missed by many people who continue to hope, pray and work (by posting thousands of fliers and spreading the word about the search for Sean)  for his safe return.

Below is a note about Sean from his Aunt Lianne.

I always smile when I think of Sean.   Sean says the funniest things.  He could make all of us laugh and smile even when discussing composting and recycling.   He said things like, “We compost everything even chicken bones.”  He would say these funny things with that teasing, sweet smile of his.     Attached is a photo of a mirror that Sean brought back for me from one of his trips.  He said he picked it because he knew I liked mirrors.  It is perfect and reminds me of Sean ….. a sunburst for Sean’s sweet and sunny smile.
