Help find Sean Sidi

This weekend was incredibly painful.

I spent it moving every item in Sean's room so that we could re-floor the area. It was so painful being near Sean's treasured knick knacks, with all the memories of his contagious smile and infectious laugh...

14 months into this, I still struggle to make it through each day, and even harder - each night. I think if not for all of you who make me realize that we do not search for Sea...n alone, and for Sean's sister Danielle, I would have gone insane with grief a long time ago.

As difficult as it is, I cannot imagine having a missing child without the reach of social media. SOCIAL MEDIA is playing an incredible part in locating missing persons. I will post some news articles later. Sean and Claude (Sean's dad) had many conversations about how social media would impact the future. Sean believed social media was here to STAY, impacting business and many other aspects of life. Claude thought social media was a passing thing. It appears that SEAN was right. Shortly before he went missing, Sean devoted almost all of his savings to purchasing FACEBOOK shares. Those shares have appreciated in value. I wish I could tell Sean that he was right......

Last week, Claude (Sean’s dad), and friends Randy & Steve attended the July 2014 Rainbow Family gathering in Utah, to spread the word about the SEARCH FOR SEAN (SIDI). They TALKED TO MANY PEOPLE & DISTRIBUTED Sean’s fliers, and "Sean TOOTHBRUSHES" engraved with “seansidi.com 415.713.5913”.

SOME remembered Claude’s search of Sean in Montana, LAST YEAR at THE July 2013 RAINBOW gathering in Montana.

MANY said that they had seen Sean’s FLIERS at REST STOPS along the drive from California to UTAH (thanks to many of YOU POSTING SEAN’S FLIERS!!).

One young man insisted he saw Sean in Boulder, COLORADO. Coincidentally, Sean was enrolled at U of Colorado at Boulder before his accident. Please SHARE SEAN’S FLIER with those YOU KNOW in Boulder, Colorado!

ALL those whom Claude met at the Rainbow Family gathering WARMLY SUPPORTED Claude’s SEARCH FOR SEAN, and said they would keep an eye open for him.

It is a 2.5 hr drive (from Salt Lake City) and a 1 hr hike IN– to reach people at the Rainbow gathering.    Yesterday, members of the ‘Search for Sean’ group met with law enforcement, medics and those at the Rainbow Gathering in Utah.    The group distributed Sean’s fliers and "Help Find Sean Sidi - 415.713.5913"  TOOTHBRUSHES.   They were well received by the Rainbow Family.  Thus far, no one claims to have seen Sean.   The search continues today. 

It has now always been 14 months since Sean vanished.  We have not received any new tips.  It is hard not to despair. We live each day as best as we can, waiting for news of Sean, found alive - or not.  The wait is unbearable.

We are grateful to all of you who continue to help us spread the word about our search for Sean, by sharing, posting, distributing Sean Flier T-shirts.

AS SOME of YOU may know, on May 21, 2013, the day that Sean vanished from San Francisco, CA, Sean’s last CELL PHONE call WAS PINGED by police to the eastern end of Golden Gate Park.  Coincidentally, people headed to the Rainbow Family gathering (in Montana in 2013) were at Golden Gate Park at SAME DATE, TIME AND LOCATION of Sean’s cell phone ping. 

We do NOT know whether members of the Rainbow Family gave Sean a ride.  We DO know that Sean REMAINS MISSING, since vanishing without a trace from San Francisco on May 21, 2013.  

Last Year, Claude (Sean's dad) traveled to the Rainbow Family gathering in Montana to search for Sean.  The Rainbow Family warmly supported Claude in his search for Sean.  This year (July 2014), friends of the search for Sean Sidi, will travel to the Rainbow Family gathering in UTAH, to spread the word about the search for Sean.

PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD about the search for SEAN SIDI !!!!   If YOU know anyone traveling to the Rainbow Family gathering AND/or anyone WHO  LIVES in UTAH,  PLEASE have them keep an EYE OPEN FOR SEAN.

Someone from Eugene, Oregon called with a suggestion to send Sean's flier to 'Lauren Hill', a psychiatric facility. He said that anyone acting eratically in Eugene (whether from mental illness or other reaons) is taken there. We will definitely send Sean's flier there. we are aware of several cases where a missing person was in a psychiatric facility or hospital while loved ones searched for them. Given Sean's fragile physical and mental state at the time he want missing a year ago, IT is very possible he would end up in a medical or psychiatric facility at one time or another.

If you work (or have an appintment) at a hospital, community health center (medical or dental), or psychiatric facility, PLEASE consider dropping one of SEAN's fliers off with the emergency room intake person or front desk. No new updates on our search for Sean (Sidi).  We are cognizant that many missing persons are not found for years, and many more never found..   We do not know how many will be following the search for Sean as time passes.  However, we do know that our love for Sean will carry us on for as long as it takes.

On Friday, I received a call from a bounty hunter in Eugene, Oregon.  He called to tell me that he saw Sean's flier up at "Eugene Mission", a place that serves the homeless (thanks to Sean’s AUNT LIANNE who has been mailing Sean's fliers to homeless shelters across the country, non-stop).

Our intent is to use San Francisco and the Bay Area as a home base (for vigils, media, (posting of fliers) etc.) while distributing Sean’s fliers across the country.    The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) is continuing to send Sean’s AD across the United States.  Finding Our Children Under Stress (FOCUS/"3-Children" Organization www.threechildrenfocus.org) is distributing a binder containing fliers of Missing CHILDREN (including Sean Sidi’s) to post offices across California.  We will post FOCUS/”3-Children” pictures later this week.

We have received so many touching letters over the past year. Joanne's letter (below) struck a chord deep in my heart - and still does - for many reasons. Thank you Joanne and to so many of you, whose support has helped our family survive the past year with hope and dignity.

"It was a year ago today and about the same time in the evening when my coworker at the Botanical Garden alerted me that Sean was missing and his family had come through the gardens on bikes searching for him. When I saw the photo they left at the kiosk, my heart dropped. Sean would come into the garden with his sister and his friends and always had that sweet and shy smile on his face. He loved it there and we loved seeing him there.

I cannot believe it's been a year. Since that time, Sean, a day has not gone by that I haven't thought of you and looked to the homeless on the streets in the hopes of finding you. I am ashamed to admit that I really never gave much attention to the homeless until now. I've searched Golden Gate Park many times for you and still lookout for you when I am there.

I just hope that wherever you are, that you are not sick and somehow find your way back home to your family. Each night when I go to bed I say a prayer and hope that you are not cold out in the elements. I hope that you have found a warm place to stay.

With all of the people who care about you and pray for your safe return, I know in my heart that you will find your way home.
